DC Motors consists of a rotor and a permanent magnetic field stator. These motors are powered by the forces of electromagnetism.

The basic movement of DC motors can be explained by the fundamental law of magnetism: Similar poles repel and opposite poles attract each other. DC motors are most commonly used in variable speed and torque applications.
