Pneumatic Cylinders, also known as air cylinders, are mechanical devices which produce force, along with movement, and are powered by compressed gas. Pneumatic cylinders work on the principle of the “Law of conservation of energy”. i.e  potential energy of compressed gas is converted into kinetic energy.

The pressure gradient between compressed gas and atmospheric gas lets compressed gas expand without external energy input. This air expansion forces a piston to move in the desired direction.
