O-RINGS
O-rings are solid-rubber seals with a round shape (O-shaped) cross section. O-rings are used to block the passage of liquid or gases, when pressed between two mating surfaces. They can either form static or dynamic seals. A seal is called static when the O-ring does not move; whereas dynamic seals can be reciprocating (like a piston and cylinder), or rotating.
