J.W. Winco, Inc. GN 927 Series Clamping Levers with Eccentrical Cam
GN 927 clamping levers were designed mainly to be used in rapid clamping and releasing applications, and come in both tapped and stud types. In contrast to a clamping operation merely utilizing threads, these levers permit torque-free clamping. The lever has been designed to insure that its movement cannot exceed the maximum clamping position, and there are no loose components since all are assembled and mounted in their correct order.
These levers are available with two types of technopolymer contact plates: fixed or adjustable versions. The adjustable contact plate utilizes a fine threaded knurled nut to adjust the distance between the eccentrical cam and the contact surface. This allows the maximum clamping force to be set by a simple clockwise or counterclockwise turn of the nut. With these clamping levers, thrust forces of up to 8 kN can be obtained.
The levers are RoHS compliant, with zinc die cast handles and a matte black plastic coated, abrasion-proof epoxy resin finish. Components are zinc plated, blue passivated steel.
J.W. Winco, Inc. GN 923.3 Series Metric and Inch Flat-Faced Aluminum Handwheels
This new series of metric and inch sized aluminum solid disk RoHS compliant handwheels with flat face design are distinguished by their modern look and their recessed handles. They were developed for applications where a typical dished type handwheel is not ideal, and where a more enclosed flat faced design is beneficial. Applications include critical high traffic areas, where the handwheel may need to be manually rotated on the machine. After operation the handle can be recessed into the disk, out of harm’s way. In applications where the handwheel is required to slowly but automatically rotate periodically, the flat faced design helps avoid injury. (But always remember, if you design a handwheel into an application where it is required to rotate automatically, make sure you also design a guard or shroud to be installed to encompass it, so injuries are avoided.)
The handwheel body is pressure die-cast aluminum with powder coated matte black pebble finish or silver textured finish. Rim is concentric and square to bore. Two-spoked versions of all types are also available. The revolving handle has a matte black nylon plastic hand piece with a black oxide retracting mechanism. The removable plastic cover shrouds the assembly hardware such as screws and countersunk washers, as well as the shaft end.
This line of handwheels is also offered with or without revolving handles, or with recessed safety retractable handles. The recessed handle is easily put into operational mode by taking one or two fingers and pulling the plastic handle upward. Once it is 90 degrees from its original position, it will lock into place via a spring located in the handle body. To retract, pull out axially on the plastic handle and lay it back in its neutral position.
J.W. Winco offers a broad selection of handwheels in all types, materials and sizes.
J.W. Winco, Inc. GN 114.3 Series Push Button Rapid Release Pins
J.W. Winco’s GN 114.3 push button rapid release pins are used for rapid connecting and securing of work pieces, for example, in situations where locating pins must be regularly moved in and out of position. The two securing pins can be retracted by pressing the button; when it is released, the pins will once again return to the secure position.
These innovative rapid release pins feature a new design, in which rectangular shaped securing pawls made of stainless steel create a linear contact area which increases axial shear strength.
Available in metric sizes, the RoHS-compliant pins feature a knob made of nylon plastic with a matte black finish with orange button. The shank, securing pins and spring are all made of stainless steel. Split rings with various chain lengths are available to prevent the loss of the ball lock pin. J.W. Winco also offers steel shank versions of these release pins.
