Judged in parallel with the SolidWorks World 2008 Design Contest, the student contest spotlights future designers and engineers from middle school through graduate school using SolidWorks® software. “It’s important to recognize the work of students who are just starting out in their computer-aided design and engineering work,” said Marie Planchard, director of worldwide education markets for SolidWorks Corporation. “Yet it’s evident from the work they submitted that their designs stand up to the best of the professional design contest.”

This year’s student winners are:
    * 1st prize – Matsuo Nezawa, Tokyo Metropolitan Rokugou Technical High School –
    Strawberry, Cacti, and Fruits.
    * 2nd prize – Lukasz Korenkiewicz, Bialystok Technical University – Adrian RC Helicopter.
    * 3rd prize – Donald Erich, Clemson Engineering Technologies Laboratory – Multi-Unit
    Residence

Students earned cash prizes for their efforts. To see all the entries, visit www.solidworks.com/studentdesigns.
