The TMDMP, “Pi”, filter design on the Micro-D filter connector uses two capacitors around a ferrite inductor. This gives the connector a better attenuation curve than conventional “C” type filters. The design also makes it dense enough to accommodate the ferrite tubes necessary for Pi filtering in military and aerospace applications.
