Marathon mounted bearing units integrate a stainless steel dual-sealing system to protect from contaminants, resist corrosion, and extend service life.
The sealing arrangement consists of a double-lip insert seal (rubber bonded to AISI 304 stainless steel), an AISI 304 stainless steel flinger, and a rubber-backed steel gasket. The insert seal and flinger combine to create a double barrier against pollutants and washdowns, and the gasket, flinger, and USDA Food Grade grease between insert seal and flinger deliver added sealing efficiencies. Stainless steel contributes superior corrosion resistance.
