The SCCR originates from changes enacted by the National Electric Code and is represented as UL508A.
SCCR ensures proper documentation of the maximum short circuit current a component, assembly or equipment can safely withstand when protected by a specific overcurrent protective device. For instance, a control cabinet’s SCCR is the same as that of a component, in the cabinet’s electrical distribution path, with the lowest SCCR.
