Rugged Magnetic Rotary Sensors/Encoders

RLS magnetic rotary sensors/encoders in new redundant models feature two independent sensors on one chip. Each sensor is totally isolated from the other and can be supplied with a separate power supply. The 2-in-1 units are available with 8-bit to industry-first 13-bit sensors. Each sensor can output SSI or incremental position information. Position error between the two sensors is better than ±1 bit.

The 2-in-1 units give redundant, critical-mission function on top of the solid-state strengths and compact size. They deliver high-resolution positioning (up to 8,192 count per revolution), speeds to over 30,000 rpm, and measurement accuracies to 0.4°, while withstanding temperatures from -25 to 125°C, and providing high resistance to shock, vibration, G forces and pressures. Used in applications ranging from medical scanners and aircraft controls to washdown, oilfield and subsea environments. All RLS magnetic encoders are RoHS compliant.
