FREMONT, CA – Elma Bustronic Corporation announces a 6-slot AdvancedTCA Backplane in a Mesh topology. The flexible design also allows a Dual Star topology to be implemented.

The 6-slot ATCA backplane now features standard MicroTCA connectors used for connections to Elma’s IPM Sentry shelf manager. The small and dense connector minimizes the space used on the backplane. The 6-slot is compact enough to fit within a 5U horizontal ATCA enclosure, along with 2 shelf manager connectors within the card cage. This is among the densest ATCA design in the marketplace.

Compliant to the latest PICMG 3.0 specification, the 6-slot ATCA backplane features an 18-layer controlled-impedance stripline design. There are also connectors for SHMC, power entry, Sense, I2C Bus, IPMB, Ring, and fan trays. Bustronic also offers ATCA backplanes in 2, 5, and 14-slot Mesh configurations and a 14-slot Dual Star design.
