Convenience is the goal in adhesive curing. IRphotonics, a leader in the design and manufacture of infrared-based materials and systems, may be well on the way toward improved convenience.  The company recently announced it finished a successful field trial with ITF Labs for its iCureā„¢ Infrared spot curing system.  The field trial was conducted with adhesive 353ND on an optoelectronics device that required local curing without heating adjacent components.

The iCure AS200 is an inline fiber optic system that heats by infrared radiation in a portable unit. It suits automated manufacturing processes requiring rapid adhesive curing and local heating of bonded assemblies. It has a 200 W lamp with up to 80 W/cm2, and reduces curing time by more than 75%.
