B&R has extended its wide range of plug-in modules for the ACOPOS servo drive family to include a module for evaluating BiSS encoders. The BiSS fully digital bidirectional sensor interface is an open and license-free communication standard that allows sensor data to be read synchronously, securely and quickly. The BiSS interface is characterized by a high transfer rate and reliable error detection.
Sensor data can be read quickly and securely using the new plug-in module for evaluating BiSS encoders.
These advantages make the BiSS encoder interface especially suitable for applications with high demands, for example when integrating fully digital hollow shaft encoders with large internal diameters or robust, absolute and linear measurement systems with high-speed movements.
ACOPOS is an intelligent servo drive that increases production volume, reduces production cycles and improves quality with greater precision. With ACOPOS, B&R offers bus-capable servo drives for machine manufacturing in the power range from 400 W to 64 kW. With Ethernet POWERLINK, it is even possible to operate up to 240 axes on one line using the same network.
