Rogers' China busbar manufacturing facility has been awarded the European Railway Industry's IRIS certification.

The IRIS certification, developed by the Association of the European Railway Industry (UNIFE), has been modeled on similar quality standards already in place in the aerospace and automotive industries. It complements the internationally recognized ISO 9001 quality standard for rail specific requirements.

Rogers PDS has been designing and manufacturing multilayer laminated busbars for more than 40 years and supplies the top ten global railway rolling stock manufacturers. Rogers RO-LINX® Performance busbars are used in traction modules and propulsion systems for railway transport.

Rogers’ Suzhou manufacturing facility, which houses engineering and manufacturing operations, has been in operation since 2004, and occupies some 8,000 sq. meters and hosts almost 700 employees total. It gained ISO 9001 certification in 2005 and ISO14001 in 2008.

“As the number one leader in laminated multilayer busbars for traction convertor applications, IRIS certification is an important calling card to the global railway industry,” commented Jo Vercruysse, Rogers’ Business Development Manager. “IRIS represents a standard of excellence that we’re proud to have achieved.”
