A throwback to American muscle cars
VLF Automotive gets the initials in its name from its automotive-icon founders: Gilbert Villarreal, Bob Lutz, and Henrik Fisker. At NAIAS the company showed off a few examples of its extremely limited-edition cars. The two-seat, all carbon fiber-bodied Force1 (top) features specially designed 21-in wheels with high-performance Pirelli P Zero tires and Brembo high-performance brakes. The hood includes six air intakes and outlets for the car’s 745-hp 8.4-L V10 engine. The interior includes features you don’t exactly see every day such as a champagne holder. The supercharged VLF Rocket V8 (bottom) also sports a handmade carbon body and is a collaboration with Galpin Auto Sports in Calif. The 5-L V8 puts out 725 hp and 700 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm. VLF also showed an SUV called the X-Force, basically re-bodied Chevrolet Colorado crew-cab short-box truck tricked out to resemble the old Hummer.
