Kaydon
bearings make key contributions in critical applications requiring
innovative approaches, such as the semiconductor, defense, medical
equipment, and wind energy markets. In wind energy turbines, for
example, our pitch bearings for the airfoil rotor blades are as big as 8
feet in diameter, and our yaw bearings are up to 11 feet. On a smaller
scale, we provide specialty bearings for medical diagnostic equipment —
allowing faster rotation and therefore better imaging — and high-speed,
low-decibel specialty bearing assemblies.
The Kaydon approach is not to simply
manufacture excellent bearings, but to solve tough engineering problems —
with Thinfinite™ bearing solutions and Slewinfinite™ bearing solutions.
Lightweight
REALI-SLIM® Thin-Section Bearings are ideal for applications
where space and weight are limited. They are available from stock or can
be modified for harsh or corrosive environments. Bore sizes range from
1” to 40” (20 mm to 360 mm) and cross-sections from 3/16” to 1”.
REALI-SLIM® thin-section bearings are available in inch or metric sizes,
as open or sealed thin-section bearings, stainless steel thin section
bearings, and extra-light thin-section bearings (ULTRA-SLIM® thin
section bearings have a 3mm cross-section). All feature high dynamic
capacity ratings that are exceptionally accurate, since they are derived
from an innovative methodology that integrates the calculations with
actual test data instead of simply estimating bearing life.
Slewing ring
bearings are another Kaydon specialty. Our range includes
four-point contact ball, eight-point contact ball, cross-roller, and
three-row roller bearings, from 2 inches to 240 inches in diameter.
Typical applications are cranes, excavators, aerial work platforms, gun
turrets, radar pedestals, forestry equipment, surveillance equipment,
scanner equipment, material handling equipment, and machine tools. All
Kaydon bearings, standard or custom, are designed for top performance
and quality. We pay special attention to balls, raceway geometry and
finish, incorporating special features as needed to simplify design,
reduce manufacturing costs, and enhance product life. Typical examples
are integral gearing or sprockets, through-drilled or tapped mounting
holes, and contact seals.
Our experienced sales and application
engineers love the challenge of custom bearing applications. They work
closely with customers to analyze their requirements and optimize
bearing performance and cost-effectiveness accordingly. Fully integrated
manufacturing facilities give us complete control over quality and
scheduling, and Kaydon sales and engineering offices are strategically
located to serve global customers. On-site support is available from
highly trained field engineers, factory-direct or via an extensive distribution network.
If your application demands innovative
engineering, unsurpassed quality and proven applications experience — in short, Infinite™ bearing
solutions — give Kaydon Bearings a call.
