Die Casting Competition
NADCA, The North American Die Casting Association, is pleased to announce its annual die casting competition. The purpose of this competition is to represent the interests of the die casting industry as well as promote awareness on the technical advancement and application of die cast parts. The competition provides NADCA a platform for participating companies to show the complex and outstanding die cast designs they produce while acknowledging the continuous contribution they provide to the industry.
For more than three decades NADCA has held this annual competition, represented the die casting work of both custom and captive die casters. Submitted castings are reviewed by a panel of independent judges, from which nine winners are determined, grouped by material that include aluminum, zinc and magnesium. For each category, a die casting is evaluated based on four equally weighed criteria: Ingenuity of casting and product design; overall quality; cost savings and contribution to expanding the market for die castings.
Each year winners are recognized during the Metalcasting Congress. For 2009, the 113th Congress will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada April 7-10, 2009. Winning castings will be on display during the congress. In addition, winners will be featured in a special three page editorial piece in Design News, May 2009 edition.
NADCA welcomes additional die casting competition entries. Final part submissions must be submitted by February 20, 2009. NADCA accepts multiple casting submissions. The official 2009 Entry Form is available on NADCA’s website at: www.diecasting.org/castings/ competition
