Maxon motor’s Product Range
offering solutions that fit your customized needs
maxon precision motors focuses on comprehensive solutions optimized through a diversified product range and client consultation.

The maxon motor product range is quite diverse. The drive components are assembled and designed within our modular system according to your individual needs. You can combine, according to your requirements, motors with 10 different product classes with planetary, standard or special gearheads, feedback devices, brakes and control electronics.

Setting new standards in DC motor design functions and capabilities maxon motor launches its EC22HD (Heavy Duty) motor, a 22mm-diameter brushless motor that outperforms any other commercial electric drive on shock, vibration and temperature tolerances. Developed for the exceptionally high requirements in deep drilling technology; operates at depths of around 16,000 feet and in boreholes up to 36,000 feet long and resists the most extreme operating conditions. As part of the maxon’s commitment to R&D, a high-temperature test facility was built, and extensive field trials conducted. The motor operated at temperatures up to 240°C and under atmospheric pressure conditions from high vacuum to 25,000 psi. It has also been proven to resist impulse and impact forces of 100G. It can operate while submerged in oil, trebling its 80W output rating to 240W because of the improved heat dissipation. The motor’s efficiency of 88% in air (and above 70% in oil) makes it particularly suitable for battery-powered applications.

New to maxon’s motion control program, a compact and powerful servo controller. maxon’s new ESCON 36/2 DC is a 4-quadrant PWM servo controller for use with DC motors up to 72 W. The servo controller is controlled by means of an analog set value. The value can be specified by means of analog voltage, an external or internal potentiometer, a defined value, or by means of a PWM signal with viable duty cycle.

Other features include:
• Drift-free, dynamic speed behavior for a speed range of 1 to 150,000 rpm.
• Fully configurable digital and analog inputs and outputs.
• The ability to run in various operating modes: speed controller (closed or open-loop) and current controller.
• Speed regulated by means of a digital incremental encoder (2-channel, with/without line driver), DC tacho or without encoder (IxR compensation).
• Protective circuits against overcurrent, excess temperature, underand over-voltage, voltage transients
