New Safety-oriented Rotary Encoders in a Small Footprint
Enabling new innovations in automation, medicine and electronics equipment, HEIDENHAIN’s new generation of 1000 Series rotary encoders feature IP 64 protection, absolute position-value formation and functional safety, all within a 35 mm diameter housing size. These small rotary encoders are designed to be especially useful as single-encoder measurement feedback systems in safety oriented applications, providing two independently formed position values via a serial EnDat interface. They are certified according to the EN ISO 13849, EN 61508 and EN 954-1 standard for performance level d, safety integrity level 2 and category 3, respectively. The EnDat 2.2 version of these new absolute rotary encoders offers a singleturn resolution of 23 bits, and a multiturn resolution of 12 bits.
Improved Inductive Encoders Offer Better Control Performance
The ECI/EQI 1300 series of inductive rotary encoders now offer a 19-bit singleturn resolution version, providing better machine control performance. The ECI/EQI series also offers a multiturn encoder with a resolution of 31 bits. These types of rotary encoders are typically utilized in servo applications.
Revolutionary 2-Dimensional Encoder
The 1Dplus encoder from HEIDENHAIN is a uniquely innovative two-dimensional encoder designed to allow measurement of linear guiding and thermal drift errors during movements of a stage or machine, and the processing and immediate compensation of these errors. This results in a system with very high accuracies with jobs done right the first time.
These truly revolutionary 1Dplus encoders are frictionless and have gratings in two dimensions, with models featuring two or three scanning units for simultaneous measurement of both the X and Y directions.
