 Warner Linear – Actuator Experts

When a company specializes in a focused area of technology, it only makes sense that you look to them as the experts. And that’s the case with Warner Linear which produces a focused line of linear actuators, and associated controls. “We supply actuators to a lot of world-class companies, and they count on our collective talents to produce a consistently top-quality product,” says General Manager Dennis Schreier. “We’re up to the challenge. We are ready when a unique application comes our way."

Rugged-Duty Linear Actuators

Warner Linear’s B-Track K2 is the base model in the rugged-duty family of actuators that incorporate a patented in-line load transfer design. The B-Track design provides high load capability for ruggedduty capacity, efficient power use, a compact package size, excellent corrosion and washdown protection and high performance synthetic lubrication for life.

The K2 offers solid bronze or Delrin® nut options for high-impact load applications up to 1,200 lbs., with a rolled hybrid screw that yields long screw life with no brake needed. Heavyduty, double-ended ball bearing motors, hardened gears, O-ring seals and an extension rod bearing system provide best-in-class capabilities.

Typical applications include residential mower decks, snow blowers, heavy duty platform and engine lifts, deck and implement lifts for tractors and mobile applications, wheelchair and scooter lifts, bin and tank cover lifts, gate and valve operation, or table positioning applications.

For even more demanding applications, where an alternative to hydraulic or air cylinders is needed, the K2x provides the highest load rating in its class, with a rated load up to 2,200 lbs. The K2x uses an efficient in-line ball screw system, integral load holding brake and ball detent overload clutch.

Combining the K2x actuator with Warner Linear state-of-the-art control functionality results in precision actuator control at a fraction of the cost of more complicated servo actuator systems.

Typical applications for the K2x would be on ATV dump box lifts, hood lifts, commercial mower decks, tractor and implement decks and lifts, boat engine lifts, spray booms or scissor lifts.

Both the K2 and K2x feature stroke lengths from 2 to 36 inches in 2” standard increments and special lengths as an option.

The Opposite End of the Spectrum: Light-Duty

While Warner Linear offers a full line of versatile general-duty actuators for a broad range of applications, one of its most popular for light-duty applications is the M-Track 1 actuator. This compact, completely self-contained and sealed unit fits conveniently into small spaces without sacrificing power or capability.

With load capacities ranging from 25 lbs. @ 1.75 in./sec. to 165 lb. @ 0.25 in./sec. and stroke lengths from 2 to 12 inches, the M-Track 1 provides solutions for a diverse range of intermittent duty applications.

Functionally, they are easily interchanged with comparable size hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, and provide consistent, repeatable performance even for applications with difficult operating conditions including temperature extremes, high humidity or significant dust.

Typical applications include throttle controls, air vent opening, remote window operation, remote mirror positioning, gate opening, shutter controls, light-weight tilt or lift positioning or vise and clamp operations.

WARNER LINEAR

Warner Linear is dedicated to designing and manufacturing rugged-service electromechanical actuators, offering a broad selection of linear actuators and controls.

Warner Linear serves the Transportation, Turf & Garden, Agricultural, Mobile Off-Highway, Material Handling, Marine and Medical & Mobility industries with innovative application solutions for load positioning.

Recognizing the critical nature of their products to the overall performance of OEM equipment, Warner Linear engineers and design specialists work closely with their customers’ engineering and development staff early in the design process to establish a thorough understanding of performance requirements.

Having defined both lab and field testing requirements for a specific product application, Warner Linear technical staff applies solid model design capabilities, computer-assisted testing, and manufacturing floor pre-shipment cycle testing to assure their products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Linear actuator testing capabilities include dual load life cycling stands, low and high pressure washdown test tanks, lift test stands and thermal shock submersion. Test services also include material analysis, and noise and vibration evaluation capabilities.

Located in Belvidere, Illinois, Warner Linear operates a progressive design and manufacturing center configured within a flexible work cell environment to minimize the product design and manufacturing cycle for customers who seek time-to-market advantages.
