What’s New in Couplings?
Ameridrives Couplings is an international technology leader with a comprehensive product line including: Amerigear Gear Couplings with fully-crowned gear teeth for superior performance; Gear Spindles with Advanced Gear Design that increase steel mill capacities up to 300 percent; Ameriflex Diaphragm Couplings that meet the rigorous demands of turbomachinery equipment: and Ameridrives’ newest innovations…Ameridisc and Turboflex Disc Couplings.
Ameridisc High Performance Couplings
This high-tech line of disc couplings is one of the most advanced available for the power generation, petrochemical and marine industries.
Developed using advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with strain-gage verification, the Ameridisc has a multi-scalloped, optimized disc profile for even stress distribution. A proprietary disc coating helps prevent fretting and corrosion.
Ameridisc Advantages
• API-671 & ISO 10441 compliant
• No lubrication / maintenance free
• Available in Inconel and 301 SS
• Improved dynamic balance
• Low bending and axial reaction loads
• Operates at full ratings simultaneously
• Custom pack fasteners for optimized bolted connection
• Industry leader in power density and bore capacity
Turboflex GC Flexible Disc Couplings
Optimized for heavy industrial applications including reciprocating and reversing equipment in low to medium speed ranges, Turboflex GC disc couplings are ideal for engine driven equipment.
Our engineers have extensively tested and analyzed the GC Series using FEA to pinpoint Turboflex torsional characteristics and assure accurate data for your system dynamics analysis.
Capacities to 1900 HP/100 RPM, with modified and special couplings are available.
Turboflex Advantages
• Fewer coupling sizes - lower inventory cost and better spares availability
• More torque per size = lower cost per HP
• Unitized flex pack simplifies installation - no loose blades or washers
• Straight-sided flex pack provides better stress distribution and reduces cost
• Unitized flex pack prevents blades from wearing into the bolt, which reduces galling and freezing of bolts in holes for easier maintenance
