Spartan Scientific has announced the debut of a new series of composite plastic solenoid valves that are more cost-effective and considerably lighter than their metal versions.
The new Spartan Scientific 6200 Series valves include stainless steel port reinforcing rings for durability, but composite plastic bodies that won’t rust or oxidize like metal does. This provides a more versatile and durable product at a competitive price point.
As metal prices skyrocket, this composite valve delivers a versatile, cost-competitive solution that is made in America, said Todd Harmon, vice president of Canfield Industries, parent company of Spartan Scientific. This series is a natural progression of our product line. Composite valves are being used in more and more industries, which allows us to compete in those arenas.
The series includes two-way and three-way valves for a variety of fluids, flow rates and pressure ranges. Possible applications include ice machines, spraying systems, water purifier systems, car washes, reverse osmosis drinking water systems and lubrication systems.
The new valves also feature a removable orifice basket design, unique to Spartan that allows for quick change-over to accommodate eight different orifice sizes.
