In June, the American branch of O+P unveiled the patented hose retention system for pressure hoses capable of protecting operators and machine components. The company introduced its Stopflex system at the ASSE Safety conference and exhibition event held June 26-28 in Atlanta.
Designed in-house at its Brescia premises and patented internationally, Stopflex retains the movement of the pressure hose once the fitting is removed, fully protecting operators and safeguarding equipment and components.
The force released by a hose could cause a “whiplash effect” that could be hazardous for property and people. To avert this serious risk, the Stopflex system anchors the flexible hose to the system through a steel rope: the strip, provided with a gasket, remains perfectly anchored to the hose thus absorbing the force released by the movement of the hose and simultaneously allowing the duct to breathe depending on the operating pressure.
The Stopflex hose retention system may be applied on all types of flexible hoses and used in various industries including hydraulic plants, earth moving machines, drilling machines, hydraulic cranes as well as off-shore and shipbuilding industry. Fixing may be applied to nipples, SAE flanges or various elements of the system.
The Stopflex array of products now comes with a new variant to the conventional system, an openable sealing element for nipples which efficiently meets assembly needs without having to demount hoses in existent and already operative systems.
Widely acclaimed at the ASSE Safety event in Atlanta, Stopflex recently won the recommendation of IHSA (International Hydraulic Safety Authority) in the USA. A major acknowledgement for O+P and its American branch in Acton, Mass., O+P is a member of NAHAD (National Association for Hose & Accessories Distribution) and NAHAD Hose Safety Institute.
