Working together, Belgian nano-electronics research center imec and UEST, a Belgian start-up company, have started the production of smart bracelet called Zembro. The wireless product allows the elderly to connect with their relatives immediately – anytime and anywhere. The key to successful use by the elderly is a clear and easy-to-understand human interface.
Besides using GPS location tracking and smart algorithms to autonomously detect emergency situations, the bracelet also incorporates:
- Environmental light sensors
- 3-axis accelerometer
- Location sensing (other than GPS) through triangularization
