Here are some of the most popular power electronic posts on our sister forum EDAboard.com this week.
Industrial electronics and home appliances – What is the differences between industrial electronics and home appliances? Lets discuss it. Why are circuits used in industrial applications becoming more important in other fields? Read more.
Interfacing ultrasonic sensors with a PIC – I’ve interfaced an ultrasonic sensor with a PIC16f887 processor. But I can’t get the code right for two or more ultrasonic sensors used with the same PIC. I need some ideas. My code for a single ultrasonic is here: Read more.
Moving message display circuit – Suppose I have a text string like, “Welcome -We have all stuff you want.” I want to scroll it over and over… moving letters on a 7×9 LED matrix. In one unit which was doing this it was possible to change the moving message with the help of an infrared remote control. It means that the moving message has a built-in character set from which letters can be selected to make a message. Any idea how to do this with ATMEL-based hardware? Read more.
Question about unconnected VCCIO — I bought an FPGA from Trenz Electronics and did the base board for it. I use Bank 0 to control our device (about 20 pins), the level logic is 3.3 V. But I have left the power supply VCCIO for this bank floating. So some Trenz boards died. Maybe the DDR died. Please guide me: What is the problem when I don’t connect the VCCIO? Read more.
DC-DC converter needed – I want to design a buck converter with an adjustable DC output voltage using a switching element (preferably MOSFET) driven by a PWM technique using a 555 timer. The PWM technique switches the transistor fully on and fully off. The specifications include a 60-V minimum input voltage, 10-A input current and output current, an output voltage that varies with duty cycle, and a duty cycle ranging from 10% to 100%. I need help with the component values. Read more.
