Griffin Motion’s new CXY-BS Series 150-mm Precision XY Motion Platform is fully customizable, ships quickly and is ideal for use in microscopy, inspection, wafer processing, microtiter plate processing, laser marking, and optical positioning applications. This compact, low-profile, ball-screw-drive stage exhibits high levels of orthogonality (10 arc-sec) and parallelism, enabling 150 mm of precise XY travel with 10 µm linear accuracy and 1 µm linear repeatability. Capable of operating in any orientation, the platform can also attain high linear velocities of up to 150 mm/sec, which is useful for factory automation and semiconductor processing equipment.
Clean, compact, and low profile with an apertureless frame, the CXY-BS Series 150-mm Precision XY Motion Platform features an integrated brushless servo motor directly coupled to zero backlash precision ground ball screws. The ball screws provide extremely smooth operation and velocity control, and this configuration allows for both tighter control loops and a smaller overall footprint than stages with motor couplings. Built for high duty cycles and long lifetime performance, the platform also features crossed roller bearings for smooth motion, a high resolution (0.1 µm) linear SS scale encoder, optical limit switches with home, and optional brakes for added safety. Made in the USA, the precision XY motion platform measures 306 mm (12.05 in.) x 358 mm (14.10 in.) x 66 mm (2.60 in.) with regard to length, width, and height.
“High precision, accuracy, and repeatability are given expectations in the motion equipment industry,” said Josh Houghton, chief operating officer, Griffin Motion. “So, although our motion platforms are proven to deliver exceptional performance, what really differentiates us from our competitors is our ability to quickly customize our stages to suit individual client specifications, such as mounting hole position, at an outstanding price/performance ratio.”
Standard lead-time for the CXY-BS Series 150-mm Precision XY Motion Platform (CXY-C-150-BS-A-M-S-0-00) is four weeks, but expedited lead-times are available upon request.
