(Cincinnati, Ohio) – The eAutomation Group of Advantech introduces the PCI-1202U PCI interface card with two AMONet master ports supporting Advantech’s AMAX line of motion and control products.
AMONet is a hybrid RS-485 based network similar to other proprietary fieldbus networks intended to offer high speed deterministic communication. Common CAT5 cable is the recommended medium making this a very cost effective solution for distributed motion control applications. Multiple PCI-1202U cards can also be used in a single computer for centralized motion applications with a large number of axis.
AMONet is a 20Mbps network, supporting up to 64 slave modules, and allowing each master port to control up to 2048 I/O points, 64 axes, or a combination of the two at a distance of up to 100 meters. The PCI-1202U also includes two standard RJ-45 network connectors for the AMONet interface, eight digital inputs, and four digital outputs for monitoring real field I/O.
