Fast fueling thanks to a Stratasys 3D printer
This odd-looking contraption is actually a fueling nozzle as might be used by Team Penske for refueling its Indy Cars. The handle for the thing, here operated by Stratasys’ Amy Teal, is a carbon-fiber part created with help from a Stratasys Fortus 450mc 3D printer. The Stratasys printer created sacrificial material for the carbon-fiber layups. Once the part was complete, the Stratasys-3D-printed material was dissolved to release the finished handle.
