ACE Controls Gas Springs offer high service life

By Stacy Combest | August 13, 2012

ACE Controls’ (www.acecontrols.com) maintenance free and self-contained gas springs are specifically designed to handle the demanding needs of the commercial and industrial markets. Eliminating the need for muscle power, the gas springs offer controlled motion for hoods, lids, panels, machine guards and many more.

The gas springs are available in 15 mm to 28 mm body diameters while forces range between 10 N and 2,500 N. Delivering a high service life, ACE Controls gas springs feature precision steel body and treated steel piston rod that have been tested to endure up to 70,000 cycles.

Unlike conventional gas springs, ACE Controls gas springs delivers a relatively low break away force as it features an integrated low friction bearing and a grease chamber.

The maintenance free self-contained systems are filled with high pressure nitrogen gas and contain a small amount of oil for end position damping. The gas springs can be mounted in any position, and its internal valve allows users to adjust the force to their specific needs.

ACE Controls gas springs are ideally suited for various applications such as aerospace, transportation, defense, packaging, furniture, amusement and printing applications. Other gas spring applications include photocopiers, computers, truck engine covers, boat engine hatches, molding machines, security cabinets and washing machine lids.

Aside from the different mounting accessories, the gas springs are also available in a vast array of stroke lengths and body sizes. Extension velocity and forces can also be specified to meet the requirements of various applications.
