Shovels have one job: to dig. For such a simplistic product, EST Gear sure is making it into a much more elaborate piece of gear. Now, the EST Shovel features 18 tools-in-one with what appears to be a shovel on the outside but consists of a saw, axe, knife, spear, bottle opener, fire starter, wire-cutter, trowel, hexagon wrench, nail puller, pick, ruler, hook, waterproof storage, screwdriver, whistle compass, and rope cutter.
Although carrying all that around seems like a major feat, the shovel can be taken apart and neatly packed into a pouch for camping trips. In total, the shovel weighs 2.5 lb.
EST’s main objective was to create a sturdy shovel with a carbon steel spade and a military-grade aluminum handle. The serrated edge, only on one side of the shovel, helps the shovel dig in tougher terrain.
Currently, the company plans to sell the all-in-one shovel for $59, and if all goes as planned, will begin shipping in June. Check out the multi-tool in action below.
