Animatics’ SmartMotor Brings Integrated Benefits to Harsh Environments

Animatics’ new SM23165MT-IP SmartMotor™ with mil-style connectors offers IP65 ratings with the convenience of a smaller frame size for compact applications. The second in a series of harsh environment-rated products from Animatics, the SM23165MT-IP combines the quality and capabilities of the SmartMotor integrated servo in combination with an IP65 rating, adding tremendous value to an already strong product series of complete motion control solutions. The sturdy design and thicker motor casing provides protection, durability, and resists cable stresses, meaning a longer motor life and less down time. Now any factory process using washdown techniques or wet processing environments can benefit from the easily programmable SmartMotor and its unique features such as Combitronic communication protocol and stand alone linear interpolation.

For the IP65 rated SmartMotor, not only is it completely dust-tight but also protected from ingress of liquid that may occur from any angle, rendering no harmful effects on the electrical enclosure. The SM23165MT-IP can withstand splashing water, oil or food debris as well as rainy conditions. Conditions with high levels of humidity and condensation are no longer a problem for the SmartMotor motion control system. This makes the SM23165MT-IP with the IP65 rating the perfect integrated servo for food and beverage manufacturing and packaging, rugged outdoor conditions, as well as any wet processing environment.

The option to upgrade to an IP67 option is also available for applications requiring complete servo motor submersion up to one meter deep in water or other non-hazardous liquids for up to 30 minutes.

SM23165MT-IP Features and Benefits:

* Mil-style connectors
* IP65 rating (with option to upgrade to IP67)
* Sturdy design and thicker motor casing
* 10 points of 24V I/O
* DeviceNet or CANopen
* Brake option available
* Combitronic™ Technology
* RS-485
* Programmable limits
* Able to withstand humidity, water, oil, non-hazardous liquid and food debris
