APM Hexseal has been designing and manufacturing quality sealing solutions in New Jersey for more than 70 years. Over the decades, the company has developed deep roots in its community and has recently supported several local organizations.
This was particularly beneficial due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted the lives of everyone and presents ongoing challenges for many.
Per a recent release, APM Hexseal stated: “At times like these, it’s important to remember that we’re all in this together, and together is how we will get through this pandemic. To that end, we’re doing all that we can to help the citizens of our community. Doing our part to help those in need has always been one of the core values of our APM Hexseal family.”
Here are a few ways the manufacturer has given back to its community…
Matching donations. During the pandemic, a food pantry in Englewood, NJ went from helping 400 families weekly to about 1,000 families per week. APM Hexseal’s employees set to the task of hosting a Thanksgiving drive to gather food and monetary donations, collecting an entire pallet of food. What’s more: APM Hexseal matched all monetary donations and gave the food pantry $2,500 in cash and supermarket gift cards.
Supporting schools. When APM Hexseal learned that local school districts were having trouble obtaining the personal protective equipment and supplies they needed to keep students and faculty safe, the company knew it had to find a way to make it safer for students and teachers to be in the classroom. The team sourced, purchased, and donated masks, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizer to three underfunded New Jersey school districts in Mount Olive, Newark, and Paterson.
Safeguarding seniors. Senior citizens comprise one of the highest risk groups for COVID-19. To help safeguard this segment of the population, most senior residences have tight restrictions on allowing in person visits with family and loved ones. This has made the pandemic especially hard on the aging population – both physically and mentally. To better facilitate much-needed visitations with their loved ones, APM Hexseal donated PPE and supplies to the St. Peter the Apostle Senior Residence in River Edge, New Jersey.
APM Hexseal added: “Throughout our long history and especially during this pandemic, we’ve strived to remember the immortal words of Winston Churchill: ‘We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.’”
