Women of the Fastener Industry (WIFI), which provides opportunities for women at all levels of experience in the fastener industry to connect, network, and learn, has announced its annual Fastener Fair scholarship. It is in honor of the memory of Margaret Davis, who helped build wholesale fastener distributor ISSCO, Inc./BTM Manufacturing.
Applications for the Margaret Davis scholarship are open until April 4th, 2022. The scholarship will offer WIFI members the opportunity to attend this year’s Fastener Fair USA in Detroit, Michigan, which takes place May 17th to 19th, 2022.
Travel, accommodations, and entrance to the show will be provided. The recipient will also gain experience working at the WIFI show booth.
Margaret Davis began her career in the fastener industry at Kansas City Nut & Bolt in the ’60s, where she met her husband, Joe L. Davis Jr. Together, the duo launched ISSCO, Inc. in April of 1974, a wholesale fastener distributor that is still in business today.
Davis served as the Secretary-Treasurer for more than 26 years. She was the matriarch of the family business, and truly enjoyed working with her husband and eventually her two sons, David and Jake Davis.
