Can you help us recognize excellence?
We’re always looking to engage with our readers, and we have a few ways that you can play a role in future projects — things that are fun and may even look pretty nice on your resume!
First off is our annual Women in Engineering special print issue. We’re working toward our fifth WiE in October, and our editorial staff is accepting nominations of female engineers who work at Original Equipment Manufacturing firms (our readers!) and are doing inspiring work. Our profiles of these women acknowledge the work they do in industrial automation in industries such as aerospace, off -highway, semiconductor, and machine tools. The print issue showcases female engineers making a difference in their careers and encourages young women to pursue career opportunities in engineering. Qualified candidates will have an engineering degree, such as a BS, MS, or PhD in mechanical, electrical, physics, or a similar field. Send your candidate’s name and contact information to Leslie Langnau, llangnau@ wtwhmedia.com. Nominations will close on June 1, and you’re more than welcome to nominate yourself.
Our LEAP Awards program, which recognizes the best new products in the engineered components space, is always on the lookout for impartial judges who have spent 20+ years in an engineering career and are familiar with product design. The categories are Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, Connectivity, Embedded Computing, Fastener Technology, Hydraulics, Industrial Automation, Mechanical, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Power Electronics, Software, Switches & Sensors, and Test & Measurement. If you’re interested in serving as a judge, please email me at the address below by May 15th, with your resume and a little about why you’d like to serve as a judge.
And lastly, we also need judges for our sister publication’s program, the esteemed R&D 100 Awards, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2022. This highly competitive competition is focused on innovative new products and services, and I’m always on the lookout for judges who have experience in research and development and a background in science and/or engineering. Again, please drop me an email at the address below by May 15th, with your resume and background on why you think you would be an informed, impartial judge for this competition.
Thank you in advance for giving back to the industry you love!
