Baldor, a member of the ABB group, was founded in St. Louis in 1920 and has been at its current location on Scarlet Oak Boulevard since 1963. This location is home to Baldor’s metal stamping plant which produces stamped parts for five Baldor motor manufacturing plants in the U.S. Each year the plant produces more than 700 million pieces of steel laminations, equivalent to a stack 250 miles tall. The 250 employees in the St. Louis plant also produce more than five million motor parts per year, including bases, fans, fan covers, capacitor boxes and retainer rings.

Baldor promotes a family culture, and we work hard every day to provide a satisfying work environment for our team, said Yavuz Bilecan, Plant Manager. We appreciate the positive feedback we received from our St. Louis employees during this survey. With the announcement of this award, we hope to show future employees that U.S. manufacturing is a great career choice.

Ron Tucker, Baldor’s Chief Executive Officer and President, commented, We have a long history with St. Louis and are proud to be part of such a strong community. During the survey our employees told us they value our company’s no layoff strategy, sharing in the company’s success through our profit sharing plan, and improving themselves through our tuition reimbursement plan. Our employees are one of our most valuable assets. Investing in them has truly been a key part of our success, and we appreciate what they do for our customers and for each other.
