Advantech’s IIoT Automation Group is pleased to offer a series of wireless barcode scanners and mobile printers.

Barcode solutions are used across the world owing to their all-around capabilities in systematically recording information, increasing efficiency and productivity, and ensuring end-to-end traceability. The use of barcode technology is rapidly rising in manufacturing, retail, hospitality, transportation, and logistic sectors as their advantages and cutting-edge features are making them more and more popular.

The demand for portable devices for instant high-quality printing and scanning has grown because of an increasing mobile workforce and the availability of mobility applications with wireless. On the other hand, portable devices offer significant benefits for users, including fewer cables, enhanced flexibility, reduction in costs, and simplicity, helping boost wide adoption across diverse vertical sectors.

Mobile Thermal Printers

Advancements in printer technologies such as thermal mobile printers that use special thermal paper are propelling sales of portable printers globally. Retail, transportation, and hospitality sections are major end-users of mobile printers.

Advantech recently released a series of mobile printers which offers 2” and 3” print widths and use USB 2.0, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Apple MFi standard interface options. With their high-speed processors and extensive memory, both units can print at speeds up to 4”/second. The models are equipped with high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that can power units to print receipts for up to 12 hours on a single battery charge.

The mobile series is the perfect combination of compact size, light weight, and high durability, all at an economical prices. With a lightweight design, the mobile series is particularly suited for creating on-demand labels, receipts, tickets, and other items, making them ideal for use in manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and retail.

Wireless Barcode Scanners

Camera-based readers are anticipated for fast adoption as these scanners are innovative and configured with advanced 2D imaging technology. On account of their faster print speed and versatility, demand for portable and handheld barcode scanners is rapidly increasing in parts of the world, especially in the retail and commercial sector. Meanwhile, the healthcare industry is swiftly adopting barcode technology as well.

Advantech recently released a series of wireless barcode scanners with easy USB receivers, giving them the ability to scan longer with their boosted battery life. In addition, they can read both digital and printed barcodes and are equipped with a buffer mode feature for out-of-range scanning. Moreover, they can capture all major 1D and 2D barcodes, great for scanning coupons, processing mobile payments, mobile ticketing, and medication administration.
