Southington, Conn. — A new line of Baumer MagRes BMIV Magnetic Incremental Encoders has been specifically designed to endure the operating extremes found on railway vehicles. Reliably delivering speed and position information, these wear-free, non-contact encoders feature up to 12 channel outputs, delivering data with different pulse rates.
The BMIV encoder provides rotational speed data, speed monitoring, wheel slide/slip protection, roll back detection and torsional vibration detection. The sensor’s robust cast iron housing is IP67 rated and built to withstand dirt, oils, grease, water, condensation and temperature extremes from -40 to +50ºC. Designed with no moving parts, no light source and no glass or breakable components, the BMIV encoder easily resists shock and vibration and offers long-term reliability.
The Baumer EcoMag BMIV Magnetic Incremental Encoders comply with all railway standard and offers SIL 2 certification.
