MINNEAPOLIS, MN — To increase sales and engineering support for customers in South America, Beckhoff Automation has opened its newest subsidiary in Brazil. Together with distribution partners in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, Beckhoff is now represented in four countries on the South American continent.

Beckhoff Automação Industrial Ltda. is based in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo State, Brazil. The Beckhoff Brazil sales network will be further expanded through additional branches and system integrators in strategic locations. São Paulo State is home to numerous manufacturing industries including the automotive industry and suppliers, packaging, plastic injection molding and sugar cane processing.

“In Brazil, Beckhoff products are already widely used in numerous applications. Initially, we will concentrate on the machine building sector,” said Marcos Giorjiani, managing director of the new Beckhoff subsidiary. “The Brazilian automation market is growing at a strong rate. This newly established Beckhoff branch will give us better growth opportunities because we can develop our own strategies for positioning our 'New Automation Technology' in the Brazilian market to best work with new and existing customers.”

Beckhoff Automation provides advanced, open automation products based upon proven technologies so that customers can implement high performance control systems faster and at a lower overall cost than traditional PLC and motion control systems. Beckhoff's 'New Automation Technology' product range includes PC based control, industrial PCs, automation controllers, operator interface, I/O, servo drives and motors. With representation in more than 60 countries, Beckhoff is well positioned to provide global sales and service to its customers. Sales and service are handled directly, with no intermediaries involved to provide faster response and improved communications.
