Bimba Linear Thrusters TE Series with 304 stainless steel body

By Editor | June 18, 2012

The TE series linear thrusters from Bimba (www.bimba.com) utilizes high-strength aluminum alloy porting ends and features a 304 stainless steel body air cylinders for longer and reliable service life. It also comes with 303 stainless steel piston rods, a sintered bronze rod guide bushing and Buna N “U” cup seals.

The TE series are available in 9/16″, 3/4″, 1-1/16″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″, 3″ bore sizes. Although standard stroke lengths range from 1” increments to 6” and 1” increments to 12″, the company also offers stroke lengths beyond the maximum.

The high-strength composite bearing of the TE series are made of fiber-imbedded plastic and performs better in specific environments such as dust or lint. In addition, the combination of the composite bearing with the stainless steel shaft makes the linear thrusters ideally suited for corrosive environments.

Except for 9/16” bores, optional magnetic piston is offered for use with Magnetic Reed or Hall Effect Switches. Meanwhile, optional external or internal bumpers are provided to help adjust stroke or absorb shock while optional adjustable cushions delivers smooth deceleration of load at end of stroke.

The TE series also offers basic repair kit, which includes rod seals, piston seals and rod guide seal.

Its air cylinders are maintenance-free since they have been sealed and pre-lubricated at the factory. The service life of the cylinder is extended by adding lubricant via direct introduction of oil to the cylinder or through air line mist lubricator every 500 hours of operation.

Its standard Buna N seals feature a temperature range of of -20ºF(-25ºC) to 200ºF (95ºC).
