St. Charles, IL – James Parejko, Vice President, Continuous Improvement and Engineering for Bison Gear & Engineering Corp., will receive the Mechanical Engineering Outstanding Alumni award at the Northern Illinois University Engineering and Technology Alumni Society’s 2nd annual Alumni Recognition Dinner May 9, 2008 at NIU Naperville.
Parejko was promoted to Vice President, Continuous Improvement and Engineering at Bison Gear earlier this year. He directs Bison’s five areas of Continuous Improvement and Engineering: Quality, Process Improvement, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Facilities/Manufacturing Engineering. Parejko joined Bison in 2006 as Engineering Manager.
A 1992 BSME and 1996 MSME graduate of Northern Illinois University, Parejko currently serves on the NIU Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. Bison and NIU Engineering have a fruitful partnership involving co-op students, senior design projects, engineering projects, and hiring graduates of NIU.
Parejko has over 15 years experience in the power transmission industry, including Chief Engineering for Emerson Power Transmission, Bearings, and Program Manager for turbo diesel engine development at International Truck and Engine Corp. With 5 U.S. patents, he also attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT.
