BURNDY® Products Announces Renewable Energy Product Offerings

BURNDY® Products, a leading manufacturer and provider of connector solutions to the industrial, energy, and application tooling industries, is proud to announce their renewable energy grounding product offerings and Break Away HYLUG™ line of copper and aluminum compression terminals.


The BURNDYWeld® exothermic grounding option provides a simple, portable, and efficient method of welding copper to copper and other various materials without the use of an external power source. The resulting connection is a fusion or molecular weld of virtually pure copper.

The HYGROUND® irreversible compression grounding system is a safe, cost-effective and time-efficient grounding method.  HYGROUND is a complete system consisting of connectors for cross grid connections, taps, splices, cable to ground rod, ground plates, and terminations.

BURNDY®’s mechanical grounding and power connectors, ideal for direct burial applications in earth or embedment in concrete, are made of high copper content alloys and use a nut and bolt design to provide the means for connecting copper cable.  To ensure maximum performance under the most extreme environmental conditions, BURNDY® Products uses only the finest high copper alloys.

In addition to the grounding mix, BURNDY®’s Break-Away HYLUG™ line of copper and aluminum compression terminals (types YBA, YBA-FX and YBA-A) provide maximum field flexibility by allowing the installer to easily convert a two-hole terminal to a one-hole terminal to suit the application.  With a slotted second stud, the Break-Away line of terminals can conform to various bus bar dimensions. For additional flexibility, the Narrow Tongue design allows the terminal to fit into tight spaces.
