Amphenol RF introduces the SMPM to SMPM assembly on RG-178 cable into our extensive and diverse portfolio of cable assemblies. The compact size of these assemblies makes them highly suited for use in applications where space is at a premium. With a 50-ohm impedance and the ability to operate from DC to 6 GHz, the SMPM to SMPM cable assembly on RG-178 is equipped to provide reliable RF performance in the most demanding applications. This new assembly is also compatible with existing SMPM products, including limited or full-detent PCB and cable-mounted connectors.
The body and contact of the SMPM connectors featured on this assembly are made from conductive gold-plated beryllium copper. The rear body of the right-angle SMPM connector is machined from highly conductive nickel-plated brass, while the rear body of the straight SMPM connector is gold-plated brass. The insulator is made from PTFE, and the ferrule is constructed from nickel-plated copper. Quality materials used in SMPM connectors ensure reliability in innovative applications such as quantum computing, medical equipment, and commercial and military drones.
Available in pre-configured lengths of 3 inches to 2 meters, this assembly joins an extensive offering of cable assemblies available as off-the-shelf solutions.
