CARRYTEC M Slim Portable Instrument Enclosures

OKW’s (Bridgeville, PA) CARRYTEC M portable instrument enclosures are now available in a new slim version for tablet style electronics.

CARRYTEC M Slim is aimed at tablets and instruments which have more modest space requirements but still require the tough protection this range offers. Applications include portable and desktop electronics – units can even be fitted to suspension arms.

The enclosures have been designed for medical and wellness applications (features include Torx T10 screws as standard), communications, data recording, plant and machine construction, agriculture, and forest management.

CARRYTEC’s integrated handle makes it tougher than rival enclosures with separate handles. Its soft-grip TPE insert also means that CARRYTEC is more comfortable to carry.

Other technical features include a large recessed top for membrane keypads plus attachment domes for PCBs in both the base and top section. Interfaces can be installed at the rear for easy cable management.

The new CARRYTEC M Slim size is 10.63” x 9.72” x 1.65”. Other wider sizes are available: L (13.70” x 11.93” x 4.61”), M (10.63” x 9.72” x 3.58”) and S (8.74” x 8.07” x 3.15”). All are available in ABS (UL 94 HB) for indoor applications and robust ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) for outdoor work. (IP 54 protection is optional).

Standard colors are Off-white (RAL 9002) for the ABS version and Lava Gray for ASA+PC-FR. Custom colors are also available.

Accessories for CARRYTEC M Slim include an IP 54 seal, holding clamps (ideal for hospital bedrails) self-tapping screws and a Torx T10 screwdriver. Also available for other CARRYTEC sizes are contacts, desk stations, base stations, battery compartments, side-mounted protection bags (for cables, probes) and a shoulder strap.

Then enclosures can be customized on request. Services include CNC milling and drilling, printing or engraving of legends and logos, special finishes, keypads and assembly.
