(Cary, Illinois) -Durex Industries manufactures cast platen heaters as a durable heat source for commercial applications. Platens can be manufactured with thickness from ½” and up.
A rugged tubular heating element is distributed evenly to provide a uniform temperature pattern across the surface. CNC machining operations provide surface finishes from 125 RMS to 8 RMS, depending on the application. The standard flatness tolerance is .005″, but other tolerance specifications are available.
Secondary coatings such as Teflon or Nickel can be added to enhance surface performance characteristics, as required. These platen heaters can also accommodate a host of mounting options, including threaded holes, cast-in stud terminals or mounting tabs. The efficient heat transfer characteristics of the cast-in design offer higher wattage outputs and longer life cycles than other heaters used in these applications.
