A trend in conveying is developing systems that can handle a range of product lines. One example is the chainless transport system for the OYSTAR Hamba range of cup, tub and bottle filling lines. Known as MultiFormat, the concept allows automated format changeover that can increase productivity by up to 25%.
The MultiFormat system transports preformed containers up to 140 mm in height and up to 2,500 grams in volume at speeds up to 57,600 units per hour. It is lubrication-free, making it suitable for use in hygienic conditions including the production of dairy products. The system can be incorporated into new machines as well as retrofitted into earlier models.
In addition to aiding production flexibility, the system reduces maintenance by eliminating transport chain stretching and service. The reduction in parts subject to wear and tear also ensures that maintenance needs are low.
