Improved filtration in herbicide and insecticide sprayers is made possible with custom designed and molded check valve filter assemblies. These filters feature Minnesota Rubber and Plastic’s Quad® brand precision ground nitrile rubber balls, preventing impurities and foreign matter from plugging the spray nozzle and disrupting flow.
Molded from a specially formulated 70 Shore A nitrile compound, the 3/32 inch diameter balls are precision ground to ±.003 sphericity (sph). One of these balls is assembled inside the cylindrical shaped stainless steel filter along with a centering spring. Featuring a snap-fit design, the assembly is locked into place with two injection molded end caps. No adhesives or welding are required to complete the assembly. The spring-loaded design holds the ball precisely in position for positive operation through thousands of cycles.
To ensure close tolerance on both spherical and diametric dimensions, Quad brand ground rubber balls from Minnesota Rubber and Plastics are center-less ground at high speed and measured with automated gauging systems. The resulting uniform finish ensures consistent sealing performance regardless of how the ball seats in the filtering assembly. These Quad brand ground rubber balls are one of many proprietary seal designs available from Minnesota Rubber and Plastics.
