WOOD DALE, IL – On March 17, 2010, Thomson is presenting a free, live educational webinar – Clutches & Brakes 201: Application Concerns for Design Engineers. The latest in a series of regular webinars on the application of mechanical and electromechanical motion technology from Thomson, Clutches & Brakes 201 will enable machine builders to better understand the difference between wrap spring and friction styles and sizing criteria, and quickly design and specify clutches and brakes for linear motion systems, saving valuable time while optimizing machine designs. Two sessions are available, Session A – 10:00 a.m. EST / 9:00 a.m. CST / 7:00 a.m. PST; and session B – 3:00 p.m. EST / 2:00 p.m. CST / 12:00 noon PST. Registration is required.
“Sizing the right clutch or brake product can be a daunting task, as the selection process hinges on the application with a number of variables that need to be taken into consideration. Often times there are several clutch or brake options that might do the job, and the key is finding the solution that will deliver the optimal balance of performance, life and cost,” says Rocco V. Dragone, Product Specialist, Thomson / Deltran Clutches and Brakes.
In one hour, participants will learn about:
Clutches and Brakes Overview
• Wrap Spring Clutches and Clutch Brakes Basic Principles & Function
