CNC machining services provider ‘Get It Made’ is offering innovative space and aerospace companies in the U.K and in the U.S. a £10,000 grant. Those selected to receive the grant will be able to spend the money on developing solutions and technologies to advance the space and aerospace industry.
With such a variety of innovation currently being exhibited by the aerospace industry on a global scale, the team at Get It Made wants to encourage smaller companies to press ahead with their ideas, and help bring them to market.
Luke Smoothy, Director of Get It Made commented: “The space and aerospace industry has come incredibly far over the past half-century, and we want to help encourage and develop the latest engineering talent to add to this legacy.”
“With space travel becoming increasingly dependent on small companies working in collaboration with international agencies such as NASA, never has there been so many opportunities for individuals to stand out and turn their engineering concepts into reality. This grant is really aimed at these small start-ups and businesses that are looking to take the next steps in progressing the future of space and aerospace.”
The grant will provide manufactured parts (to the value of £10,000), as well as allowing the successful applicants to work with Get It Made’s engineers. This collaboration will result in a huge acceleration of the design and development of the winning idea.
The manufacturing grant is available to start-up businesses that are smaller and currently less established in the space and aerospace industries. They must have launched in the last three years and have fewer than 25 employees. University-based research projects are also eligible for the grant, and those chosen will have direct access to Get It Made engineers who will help support the project from a ‘Design for Manufacturing’ perspective.
