Comcast has hired public affairs veteran Angela Vega as director of government affairs for the Central Valley.
Vega, who will be based in Fresno, Calif., will report to Sue Vaccaro, senior director of government Affairs for Comcast California. In her new job, Vega will be responsible for Comcast’s local government affairs and policy issues in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, and Santa Barbara counties.
“We are excited to welcome Angela Vega to Comcast’s talented Government Affairs team in California,” said Vaccaro. “Her service leadership and experience working with elected officials and government staff members will help support and grow the Central Valley community. As the former community relations specialist for Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Angela managed the company’s community investments portfolio for the Central Valley region.”
Vega was an intern and staff assistant to former Assembly Member Sarah Reyes. She also served as an intern for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, district representative for Congressman Jim Costa, and board assistant for Fresno County Supervisor Phil Larson.
She previously served on the board of directors for the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fresno’s Leading Young Professionals, Central California Latina Network and the advisory council for the U.C. Merced Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Network. Vega is also an alumna of the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Leadership Institute Class of 2008.
