Compact Surface Mount Resistor

By Design World Staff | February 27, 2007

Share

The HSF Series resistor requires little surface area for mounting in telecom boards and is smaller than through-hole wire-wound components.  It exceeds GR1089 lightning strike specifications.

The resistor’s unspiraled design removes the chance of failure during lightning strikes, and it meets GR1089 specifications. When subjected to 1000V with the standard 10 x 1000 µs profile, the resistance change was less than 0.2%.

The resistor is rated at 1W at 70° C with a working voltage of 350 V.  It comes in resistance values of 5.9 W, 11 W, 27 W, 68 W, and 270 W, with a tolerance of ±10%, and TCRs to ±50ppm/°C.  Maximum operating temperature is 150° C.
