Moticont now sells linear voice coil motors (LVCMs) in two 1-in. (25.4-mm) diameter motors.
• The LVCM-025-022-01 has a stroke length of 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.30 in. (33 mm) and a high-force-to-size ratio of 16.9 oz (4.7 N) and a peak force of 53.5 oz. (14.9 N) at 10% duty cycle.
• The LVCM-025-029-01 has a stroke length of 0.625 in. (15.9 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.68 in. (43 mm) with a continuous force of 18.2 oz (5.1 N) and a peak force of 57.7 oz. (16.0 N) at 10% duty cycle.
These high-force-to-size ratio motors are suitable for work holding and clamping, medical devices, assembly, testing, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, optical focusing, dynamic vibration absorption, scanners and laser beam steering and filtering.
The efficient high-speed linear motors have zero cogging and feature high accuracy, and high repeatability when operated in a closed loop as a dc servo motor. Each of these motors features a 10-32 UNC-2B threaded mounting hole in the center of the housing and two 6-32-UNC-2B threaded mounting holes on the coil end to simplify addition of these motors to new or existing applications.
Metric series threads come in production quantities and complete plug-and-play systems including an encoder and controller are also available.
Where applications need smaller or larger-diameter motors (or longer travel or more force) Moticont’s other LVCM series motors come in dozens of variations to suit. For more information, visit moticont.com/voice-coil-motor.
